Sewing machine owners who serge - help me DIY up some merit-badge type patches
July 15, 2012 5:35 PM

I do not have a sewing machine. I have an idea that I'd like to thank the people who helped me with my recent house moving/closure with some little tokens of my appreciation. I have some little things that look like this and I'd like them trimmed and have the edges stitched so I wind up with things that look like this or these, with the stars in the middle.

They can be square or round if one of those is significantly easier. I need about ten of them, not more than fifteen (still making a list). Thread color not that important, something dark or black is fine. They don't all have to match. Doesn't matter what the back looks like.

I think this is called merrowing or serging or overlocking or something? My plan would be to mail you the fabric along with a prepaid envelope for you to mail the finished badges back to me. I am hoping to get them turned around in about a week from whenever you get them.

I need someone who knows what I am talking about and can get the job done, not just someone who is trying to be helpful as much as I appreciate helpfulness. I am assuming this will take an hour or two for someone skilled at this. Let me know if I am mistaken. We can talk more about details if that is helpful.
