I think what I was trying to say, and maybe I'll nail it this time, but that it wasn't just hearing someone talk like that, it was hearing something that both sounded & felt very authentic to me.

It's not just the accent, it's the cadence and the sentence structure. It sounded like my mom and my cousins catching up in the next room. It rises and falls the right way.
